The resurgence of oak’s popularity in the office

Since the beginning of its popularity in the early 1900s, oak office furniture has been somewhat the poor stepchild in the realm of the executive office suite. But today as the vast majority of office furniture in general often does not contain a splinter of actual wood, the value of solid oak furniture for the office or the home has increased tremendously. And even in a world where ergonomic design has taken over every aspect of office furniture, the traditional look and feel of an oak swivel chair remains extremely popular.

And no discussion of oak furniture for the office is complete without a reminder of the immense desirability of both antique original and reproduction replicas of the famous roll top desk. Though this particular design is at least half a century beyond its heyday many people continue to seek these out for their value as home office décor.
